An expert panel of area leaders
Dr. Nirav Vakharia, Chief Operating Officer for Marathon Health kicked off the conversation with Dr. Raynard Washington, Public Health Director of Mecklenburg County, and Chris Paterson, CEO of Carolina Complete Health—focusing on the growing number of people who are considered medically homeless without consistent access to primary care. The importance of prevention to reduce spend on the acute end of the care continuum was a key focus of the discussion.
Keynote with Dimple Ajmera
Dr. Nirav Vakharia of Marathon also sat down with Dimple Ajmera, Charlotte City At-Large Council Member for a keynote discussion on regional healthcare challenges, and the opportunity that exists for public and private sector leaders to advance new solutions. From addressing medical homelessness to building local partnerships that close gaps in care, the conversation underscored one theme: improving health outcomes requires collaboration between public health leaders, employers, and healthcare innovators.
