Nearsite Health Center
Leaders at UA Local 440 needed to provide a flexible healthcare solution for their members while designing attractive benefits plans and reducing the cost trend of the union's health and welfare fund.
In 2015, the union partnered with Marathon Health to open a nearsite health center offering primary and preventive care, acute care, and other wellness services like tobacco cessation.
The health center is also conveniently located close to the union headquarters. It offers flexible, after-hours appointments—meaning union members who work non-traditional hours can still receive care when it works for them. All appointments are also a minimum of 30 minutes, up to an hour or more, leaving time for members to ask health-related questions, get wellness advice, and establish a more trusting relationship with their provider.
