Onsite Health Centers
After working with a previous health center vendor, St. Johns County School District wanted to find a vendor to take their onsite health centers at two district high schools and one K-8 school to the next level. They aimed to provide better holistic and preventive care, behavioral healthcare, and occupational health services.
In 2016, the school district chose Marathon Health as its next health center vendor partner. “When the contract with the original provider came up for bid, the focus shifted from just providing a regular primary care physician to wanting to focus on the whole person and prevention, as well as maintenance,” says Becky Cromwell, Senior Account Manager with the Bailey Group and Benefits Consultant to the school district. “So the thought behind Marathon and their whole philosophy for taking care of a person aligned with what the district was looking for.”
Since partnering with Marathon Health, the district added behavioral health services in 2019 and occupational health services in 2020. Not only has the district saved millions in healthcare costs, but it boasts an 84% employee engagement rate, and 68% of at-risk employees are making progress on biometrics.
