The Escambia County School District (ECSD) comprises over 50 schools covering 876 square miles in and around Pensacola, Florida.
Seeing the upward trend in healthcare costs, the school district recognized that they needed a solution to get ahead of the curve and improve the health of their teachers and district staff. The challenge was figuring out how to engage a large population spread over a broad area.
Escambia decided an onsite health center would be the best option for meeting their goals and objectives. They partnered with Marathon Health to open the health center, which provided advanced primary care, health coaching, and other wellness services.
To effectively engage its population and drive utilization to the new health center, Escambia set up a robust communications and incentives program. Using the communications strategy Marathon Health devised, Escambia County Public Schools has been able to engage more than 60% of its target population.
