The Challenge

The HR and benefits team at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (Bendix), noticed an outlier as they reviewed the company’s medical claims spend for its employees. Despite having six manufacturing and distribution centers throughout North America, the majority of Bendix’s high cost claims generated from its manufacturing campus in Huntington, Indiana. The HR and benefits team determined that they had an access to care challenge.

The Solution

Bendix partnered with Marathon Health to provide onsite health services to eligible employees and dependents, including assessments, primary care, coaching, and disease management services. The Bendix Health Center, initially staffed with one half-time nurse practitioner and a half-time medical assistant, has since expanded its hours to meet the growing needs of the eligible participants.

The Bendix Health Center’s success can be attributed to the excellent care provided by the clinicians and its comprehensive incentive program.
